About Together in a Crisis

TIAC provide a rapid response to people who are deemed not in need of an urgent clinical response, but who nevertheless are in emotional and psychological distress and may require immediate support to address their personally defined need. 

 

The service provides support focussed on active, empathic listening before helping the person to develop coping strategies, to problem solve and address practical and social issues. 

 

TIAC will respond to confirm acceptance of referral, following daily allocation meeting, and will attempt initial client contact within 24hrs. They will complete action planning whenever possible within 48hrs to respond to priority needs.

 

Criteria for the service

 

  • Experiencing emotional or psychological crisis due to social factors which can be supported through action planning and community link work. 

 

  • Not currently receiving significant support from a statutory service or a service that provides 24 hour support to the individual.

 

  • Is a resident of Newcastle and aged 18 or over. There is no upper age limit.
